With 2012 already in full swing, Entertainment Weekly takes a look back at 2011 with its list of the 10 top music-video directors of 2011.

“Looking back at the best music videos of 2011,” writes Kyle Anderson, “One thing leaped out: All of the best clips were made by the same six or seven people.”

The list recognizes Wondros’ Founder, CEO and director Jesse Dylan for his two breakthrough music videos, The Black Keys’s “Lonely Boy,” and Tom Waits’s “Satisfied.”

EW also recognized directors Spike Jonze, Tom Scharpling, Marc Klasfeld, Jake Nava, Wolf Haley, Natasha Pincus, Dugan O’Neal, Maria Matsoukas and directing team Canada.
